- GE Healthcare’s EHR and practice management solutions recently received 2015 edition ONC health IT certification to help eligible professionals (EPs) and clinicians successfully meet federal reporting requirements.

GE Healthcare’s solutions – Centricity Practice Solution and Centricity EMR – are now certified to help EPs and eligible clinicians attest for Stage 3 meaningful use measures and successfully meet requirements under the Medicare Incentive Payment System (MIPS).

In the coming years, eligible clinicians who do not use 2015 edition certified EHR technology (CEHRT) in reporting may face payment penalties. However, eligible clinicians are permitted to use 2014 edition CEHRT to meet MIPS requirements in 2018 following recent changes to the Quality Payment Program (QPP) final rule.

Eligible clinicians who use only 2015 edition CEHRT will receive a bonus.

“As the industry continues its aim toward truly value-based care, it is critical that digital solutions offer seamless and secure ways for healthcare organizations and clinicians to help drive that change in ways that meet their patients’ needs,” said GE Healthcare Digital Product Management Director Geoffrey Lay.

GE Healthcare has integrated the capabilities necessary to meet ONC 2015 edition CEHRT criteria into its EHR workflow solutions to allow for more efficient appointment scheduling, bill payment, and patient care delivery.

The solutions are designed to meet the needs of small and large physician practices, federal qualified health centers, community health centers, and multi-specialty clinics.

Additionally, GE Healthcare has implemented 35 application programming interfaces (APIs) into its CEHRT in an effort to improve interoperability. The standards-based APIs will enable apps and IT solutions to utilize health data from GE EHRs. The APIs also allow for some apps and IT solutions to seamlessly integrate with GE solutions.

GE Healthcare earned the certification from the ONC Authorized Certification Body (ACB) Drummond Group LLC.

Recently, Drummond Group LLC has also awarded 2015 edition ONC certifications to Greenway Health for three of its EHR and practice management solutions.

The certified solutions include Prime Suite v18.00, Intergy v11.00, and SuccessEHS v9.0. Each solution is designed to assist users in meeting requirements for value-based care programs including MIPS and alternative payment models (APMs).

“Our goal is to help transform practices for the future, design solutions and services that work the way our customers do, and help physicians and their staff get back to why they fell in love with medicine in the first place,” said Greenway Health CEO Scott Zimmerman.

All Greenway CEHRT also include enhancements to improve usability for providers.

In addition to Greenway Health, Compulink’s single solution EHR also recently achieved 2015 edition ONC health IT certification to meet reporting requirements in 2018.
