Healthcare Orgs Select Integrated EHR Platforms for Interoperability

An orthopedic practice in New England recently moved to an integrated EHR platform to enhance interoperability and streamline clinical workflows.

Advanced Orthopedics New England has implemented an integrated EHR, medical billing, and patient engagement solution from health IT vendor athenahealth to drive interoperability.

"We lacked the ability to innovate with our previous EHR, so we upgraded to athenaOne to modernize and continue to advance the quality of care we deliver," Kris Gorman, CEO of Advanced Orthopedics New England, said in a public statement.

"Being able to engage with patients in a convenient way while streamlining provider and staff workflows will help everyone partner to create higher-quality outcomes," Gorman noted. "These capabilities are essential to our performance and growth strategy."

The practice plans to use the tool to automate patient communication for an improved patient experience. Data generated through the system will also be available to providers and staff for clinical decision support at the point of care.

NY Health System Unifies Network Through Oracle Health EHR Implementation

Saint Joseph's Medical Center in New York is implementing EHR and patient accounting platforms from health IT vendor Oracle Health across its health system.

"Saint Joseph's commitment to excellence in care through support and ministry has led to exciting growth and services for the people of Westchester County, The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island," Michael Spicer, president and CEO of Saint Joseph's Medical Center, said in a press release.

"Standardizing on Cerner Millennium EHR and RevElate allows us to consolidate disparate systems and processes, giving our clinicians, staff, and patients access to the right data at the right time to make better decisions," Spicer added.

Travis Dalton, executive vice president and general manager of Oracle Health, said that reducing cost and complexity while helping to improve care is at the core of the vendor's healthcare mission.

"Together, with our customers and industry partners, we can accelerate innovation across the industry to create a more connected, better informed, and easier to navigate healthcare system that identifies social determinants of health and improves care equity and outcomes," he noted.

AZ Family Medicine Practice Deploys eCW EHR Platform 

Arizona-based TRUE Health Family Medicine has partnered with EHR vendor eClinicalWorks to streamline practice management and improve care outcomes.

"We wanted an EHR that could integrate into every aspect of our daily tasks as a practice," Lisa Porter, clinical director and family nurse practitioner at TRUE Health Family Medicine, said in a public statement. "We are excited to partner with eClinicalWorks and healow to enhance our provider workflows and provide the best possible care to our patients."

"eClinicalWorks and healow's advanced capabilities will allow us to streamline operations and focus on our patients, ultimately improving their health outcomes," she continued.

For instance, the practice will leverage healow CHECK-IN, a contactless check-in platform, and healow Pay, an online billing solution, to improve patient communication.

Streamlined workflows, like automated reminders, are set to reduce administrative burdens on front-office staff members.
