IL Orthopedic Clinic Taps athenahealth EHR To Support Interoperability

The athenahealth EHR system will replace three disparate systems, connecting the practice’s seven locations to boost interoperability.

Fox Valley Orthopedic has announced an athenahealth EHR implementation to promote interoperability across its seven Chicago locations.

The Illinois orthopedic organization comprises 35 physicians and surgeons who provide musculoskeletal care in diagnostic and comprehensive treatment for patients with orthopedic conditions or injuries.

“Fox Valley Orthopedics has a vested interest in exceeding patient expectations and bringing the highest quality orthopedic care to our community,” Vishal Mehta, MD, president, and managing partner at Fox Valley Orthopedics, said in a press release.

“By enabling all our clinicians to share a single, comprehensive chart on each patient and delivering a patient-centered experience, we will accomplish this mission more effectively,” Mehta continued. “Additionally, athenahealth offers us the scalability and expertise we need as we continue to add more physicians and expand our service offerings in 2023 and beyond.”

The athenaOne EHR will swap three disparate EHR systems to unite all the providers, including physicians, surgeons, and physical/occupational therapists, on one platform.

The Fox Valley Orthopedic will join over 150,000 providers on the athenahealth network and gain access to inherent orthopedic and physical therapy workflows, the press release stated.

“athenahealth has worked with orthopedic practices for many years, bolstering these customers with comparative benchmarking information so they can see how their practice is performing compared to others, locally and across the country,” said Bret Connor, chief operating officer of athenahealth. “By turning network data into insights and offering modern, dynamic technology, we can help forward-looking organizations like Fox Valley improve the physician experience while reducing patient friction historically associated with navigating through the healthcare system.”

Additionally, the athenahealth patient portal can be accessed to make appointments, pay bills, access health records, request prescriptions, and perform other essential functionality.

The Good Clinic also implemented the integrated cloud-based solution athenahealth to support a multichannel patient experience and efficient clinical workflows.

The cloud-based healthcare solution aims to reduce clinician burden, allowing providers to focus on maximizing clinical outcomes. The solution also includes EHR, healthcare billing, patient engagement, and telehealth capabilities.
