Three Healthcare Organizations Share Upcoming EHR Implementation Plans

A mental health organization in New York, a 22-provider practice in Arizona, and a family medicine practice in Massachusetts recently revealed EHR implementations prioritizing record management.

Mindful Care, an urgent mental healthcare organization, has announced that it has tapped NextGen for an upcoming EHR implementation across the entire system.

With headquarters in West Hempstead, NY, Mindful Care aims to provide same-day mental healthcare services in several states, including Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, and New York.

To further support its short-term and long-term goals, Mindful Care has chosen to implement the NextGen Behavioral Health Suite. This suite includes advanced EHR features to streamline patient care and improve outcomes, organization leaders said.

“For someone who is struggling, a six-week wait is unacceptable; it can be a matter of life and death,” Tamir Aldad, MD, MBA, chief executive officer at Mindful Care and a practicing psychiatrist, said in a press release. “To carry out our mission, we need a robust healthcare IT solution that offers seamless interoperability and can grow with us as we expand. That’s why we chose NextGen Healthcare to collaborate with us on this journey.”

The organization plans to utilize NextGen Healthcare's integrated care solutions to provide same-day appointments through online scheduling and telehealth appointments. This EHR platform stands out in its ability to consolidate primary care, behavioral health, oral health, and human services into one software solution, offering a comprehensive, one-stop solution for the organization's healthcare services.

“Like Mindful Care, we are working to bridge gaps so that providers have critical insights at the point of care as they work to deliver whole-person health,” said Srinivas (Sri) Velamoor, chief growth & strategy officer and executive vice president at NextGen Healthcare. “We’re doing this with highly performant solutions that maximize interoperability and integrate seamlessly – taking the friction out of the experience for patients and providers.”

Flagstaff Surgical Associates Prioritizes Practice Efficiency in eClinicalWorks EHR Upgrade

As Arizona-based Flagstaff Surgical Associates expands, the 22-provider healthcare practice has upgraded its eClinicalWorks EHR as a strategic move to enhance both clinical and administrative efficiency.

"After a phenomenal year of growth, we needed to upgrade our technology to manage the additional patient activity. When V12 and additional healow products were announced, we immediately took steps to upgrade our software and onboard new healow solutions,” said Kelly Dillon, clinical operations manager at Flagstaff Surgical Associates.

“healow CHECK-IN and healow Pay have been very successful and we look forward to implementing healow Chatbot,” Dillion continued. “With healow Pay, we have seen a 150 percent increase in payment collections. This technology is user-friendly and convenient for patients and providers. We’re saving time, optimizing our services to their fullest potential, and increasing patient satisfaction.”

In 2022, Flagstaff Surgical Associates experienced significant growth, bringing more than five new healthcare providers on board.

To accommodate this recent expansion and improve operational efficiency, the small provider practice sought to extend its suite of eClinicalWorks solutions.

Flagstaff upgraded to eClinicalWorks V12, the latest version of the EHR software, which provides a multifaceted platform for improving value-based care, patient record management, and EHR usability. Flagstaff Surgical Associates is also looking to implement additional solutions such as healow Pay and healow CHECK-IN to further streamline the patient experience and check-in process.

“The patient experience is a top priority for healthcare practices today, and a meaningful digital transformation is the ideal way to improve that and add significant value,” said Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “With the healow suite of solutions and the multidimensional eClinicalWorks EHR, providers like Flagstaff Surgical Associates get a comprehensive solution all in one tool.”

Quality Medical Clinic Taps eClinicalWorks to Leverage PRSMA

Quality Medical Clinic, a family medicine practice in Massachusetts, is set to begin an eClinicalWorks EHR implementation to gain access to PRISMA, a health information search engine.

By utilizing PRISMA, the healthcare organization can connect with and retrieve patient records from a wide range of sources, including hospitals, urgent care centers, and health systems using EHRs participating in the CommonWell and Carequality interoperability networks, the press release stated.

“We are thrilled to partner with eClinicalWorks,” said Jason Park, CEO of Quality Medical Clinic, LLC.

“This partnership will allow us to improve the quality of care we provide to our patients and enhance our practice management capabilities,” Park added. “Our goal is to provide a more positive patient experience as well as provide better outcomes for our patients. With PRISMA, we can now access patient records seamlessly from hospitals nationwide, including Centura Penrose Hospital, UCHealth Memorial Hospital, Centura St. Francis Hospital, and Children’s Hospital Colorado, which utilize Epic."
