- A federally qualified health center (FQHC) in Indiana is investing in a new business-focused EHR optimization for its eClinicalWorks tool, with the goal of improving EHR usability and functionality

With ten health centers, the 78-provider FQHC offers wide-ranging healthcare services, including medical, dental, and behavioral health care, predominantly to the uninsured and underserved populations across Indiana.

According to a recent press release, eClinicalWorks provided the FQHC with an EHR solution comprising several additional EHR functionality options to meet the community health centers' unique requirements.

With the aid of specialty solutions like eClinicalWorks Business Optimizer (eBO), Indiana Health Centers was able to streamline its onboarding process, customize reports to fit its workflows, and automate manual tasks with business analytics and data visualization tools.

“Using eBO, we can create reports on patients overdue for child well checks, asthma, and diabetic appointments. We also create reports to identify missing charges and immunization registry errors,” said Eric Pamperin, IT support specialist at Indiana Health Centers. “Overall, the reports are essential in determining organizational strategy, identifying financial discrepancies, and improving patient engagement.”

As a result of the EHR implementation, Indiana Health Centers has minimized onboarding errors by leveraging the eClinicalWorks Business Optimizer.

“With the eClinicalWorks Business Optimizer, we can create a variety of custom reports tailored to our workflows” said Pamperin. “This has been essential in identifying issues, automating manual processes, and determining the success of campaigns.”

“I utilized eBO and worked with eClinicalWorks at another health center, so I knew it could bring similar benefits to Indiana Health Centers. So far, we’ve seen significant time and resource savings.”

Texas Primary Care Practice Selects eClinicalWorks for Practice Growth

New Life Health & Concierge, based in Texas, recently selected eClinicalWorks EHR to stimulate practice growth, boost efficiency, and drive patient acquisition and retention.

With this transition, the newly founded primary care organizations can employ tools to enhance documentation processes. This advancement is hoped to allow more time for productivity and reduce administrative burdens.

Furthermore, New Life Health & Concierge has gained telehealth capabilities through eClinicalWorks' healow platform. The organization asserted that this development would enhance care access and patient satisfaction.

The implementation will also offer a single source for all patient data.

“As a relatively new practice, we want to start off on the right foot and provide our patients with a seamless experience,” said Catherine C Wilson, a family nurse practitioner of New Life Health & Concierge. “eClinicalWorks Cloud EHR provides us with the strong base we need to keep all the moving parts of starting a new business in line. eClinicalWorks makes it easy for our providers to keep up with the influx of new patients while organizing all their data and keeping costs low.”

Internal Medicine Practice Officially Transitions to Upgraded eClinicalWorks EHR

A Texas-based nine-provider internal medicine practice has upgraded its EHR to the latest eClinicalWorks and healow.

Since first partnering with eClinicalWorks in 2017, Be Well Primary Care has grown from a single-provider practice to a nine-provider operation serving patients across Fort Worth, Azle, and Denton, Texas. As the practice expanded, so too did the need for a more advanced EHR system.

eClinicalWorks V12 and healow V12 provide a multifaceted platform for improving value-based care, patient record management, and EHR usability.

With this upgrade, the practice seeks to enhance EHR usability through features that minimize clicks and revamp medication management screens. Additionally, a newly introduced floating toolbar allows swift access to crucial workflow elements like patient records, a virtual assistant, and documents to alleviate excessive documentation burden.

The practice also gained access to solutions like healow Pay and healow CHECK-IN. These tools will streamline the patient experience and the check-in process, enabling patients to begin check-in procedures and complete copayments before their appointments.

Moreover, the practice praised the quality of customer support throughout the transition process, as well as the positive usability outcomes since the system's implementation.
