Veradigm, HealthVerity Uses Registry Data for Chronic Disease Research

Health IT vendor Veradigm, formerly Allscripts, announced a collaboration with healthcare data ecosystem HealthVerity that will leverage registry data to advance chronic disease research.

The partnership will bridge Veradigm’s cardiology and metabolic registries with consumer data collected by HealthVerity, offering clinical researchers access to research-ready data.

The Veradigm Cardiology Registry boasts over 102 million patient records representing more than 19.9 million unique patients, making it one of the largest outpatient cardiovascular quality improvement registries. The registry follows cardiac patients over time, monitoring essential measures such as demographics, plan of care, cardiac events and comorbidities, exams, procedures, lab values, and related medications.

Specifically, The Veradigm Cardiology Registry includes data on coronary artery disease (CAD), heart failure (HF), atrial fibrillation (AF), hypertension (HTN), and peripheral arterial disease (PAD).

The Veradigm Metabolic Registry seeks to track and enhance the standard of care for prediabetes, diabetes, and cardiometabolic conditions throughout the primary and specialty care continuum. The robust registry contains over 79 million records, which corresponds to over 13.5 million unique patient lives, 11,100 providers, and 3,400 office locations.

Veradigm data outlines patient demographics, A1c control, nephropathy, blood cholesterol, hypertension eye exam, foot exam, and antiplatelet therapy. Additionally, the EHR vendor will provide access to EHR data spanning the past five years, covering 176 million patients with clinical activity and 300 million medical claims.

The organizations said the collaboration between Veradigm and HealthVerity will make real-world data available through the HealthVerity IPGE platform, which also leverages patient matching and identity resolution to ensure researchers can view a patient longitudinal journey without fragmentation.
